Eggshell membrane separation methods-waste to wealth-a scoping review

Eggshell is the most abundant agricultural (hatchery) and industrial (confectionary) natural waste approximately reaching up to 50000 tons per year a threat environment public. membrane shell can be used for biomedical applications as value-added products. Hence, scoping review was planned understand present scenario knowledge gap; it also explored eggshell separation methods available commercially routine utility gap. A systematic search performed in PubMed, Scopus, ProQuest databases using Eggshell/Eggshells/Egg shell, Membrane, Separation/separator keywords with and/or Boolean operators within field of title, abstract, keywords. The done from period inception (as database) till 4th October 2021 total seven full-text articles were included review. mentioned literature Microwave treatment, Acid Dissolution, Dissolved Air Floatation, proteolytic enzymes, grinding followed by mechanical agitation. This research concludes that no equipment available. Hence there need technology development majority publications manual peeling, acid dissolution, dissolved air floatation, grinding, stirring at laboratory scale.
